Some people wouldn't be caught without the season's latest fashions, and others never leave home without their asthma inhaler. But for some of us, what strikes fear into our hearts is the thought of being caught without a book. Jeanie in Wisconsin has that kind of passion for audiobooks and calls to ask Martha and Grant to give her a name for her condition.

Since there is an entry in the Websters Unabridged (2003) for "bibliophobe" for some one who fears books, I suggest "abibliophobe" for someone who fears having no books and "aabibliophobe" for someone who fears not having audiobooks.

Of course could a person who loves audio books (or podcasts) be called a babbleophile?

I like "abibliophobe."

And Bill >>> Of course could a person who loves audio books (or podcasts) be called a babbleophile?<<<

Should Grant and I be taking this personally? :-)

I once coined a word for my fraternity brothers who had a fear of being too far removed from a source of beer…absentakegaphobia. So borrowing from that we get absentalibraphobia. Larry
