Hi,

I have an off-topic question about the show descriptions for your podcast episodes.

I subscribe to 10 or 20 podcasts, and AWWW is the only podcast that will display its show description on the iPhone and/or iPod Touch. Unlike traditional iPods, the iPhone and Touch don’t allow you to toggle between the ‘album’ art for the track and the show description. However, when I tap the screen during playback of AWWW I get the show notes! I was wondering how you do it? If it’s a simple format change, I’d love to pass along the info to some other podcast-ers and get my show notes back on other programs. If you have the time to answer, thanks for any info! Feel free to get techy in your explanation.

EDIT: I can’t believe I typo’d the subject. Of all forums to screw up your only post.

I fixed the word "descriptions" for you. Mistakes are proof you’re human.

We prepare the metadata in our podcasts using iTunes, since it’s really simple. You can see how we do it by selecting any file in iTunes and choosing “Get Info” from the file menu. You’ll see all of the fields for that file, where you or the creator of that file can add information. We add the show description to the “lyrics” field, which seems to be the best place for it.

We’re glad that extra bit of information is useful to you!

Grant, thanks so much for the quick response. I'll pass this info along. I wonder if it's just serendipity that the Lyrics field is viewable on the iPhone. I think most podcasts use the "Comments" field for their show notes, and they aren't currently viewable on the newer touch screen devices.
