I *highly* recommend NPR's RadioLab show on the topic of words, and language in general. Really excellent stuff.

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

Thanks for this. Great show.

Way back many decades when I was in college there were psych (psycholinguistics) studies of people grouping objects. It turns out that the criterion of color names in the native language trumps most criteria. And different languages draw different lines when it comes even to the "common" basic colors.

I've also had some passing experience with psycho linguists ( who were NOT psycholinguists), but that will have to wait for a different post.
